GHRP-2 is a short polypeptide belonging to a group of proteins that release growth hormone. It has only six amino acids, and its formula is C45H55N9O6. The mass is 817.9.
It was first synthesized in the early 1990s when a group of peptides was discovered as synthetic oligopeptided. Some studies have shown the capability of GHRP-2 to stimulate the release of endogenous GH. This is due to its influence on the G-protein receptor. The largest of such studies came to a close in 1997 by researchers at Arkansas University in America.
Studies are looking at GHRP-2's ability to encourage the physiologic system to increase the influx of calcium ion, along with potential anti-inflammatory properties.
